Should You Book The New Utopia of the Seas Cruise?
We went on a trip on Royal Caribbean’s newest cruise ship, the Utopia of the Seas. This ship is the second largest in the world and belongs to the Oasis class. We set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, on July 19, 2024, joining the inaugural sailing for a three-night cruise. Full disclosure, we also booked a back-to-back cruise for a four-night trip on the same ship.
The big question is whether three—or four-night cruises are enough time to experience everything the ship has to offer. This depends on what you want to do on a cruise. We vloggers want to showcase everything to our followers, so our perspective might be different from others.
Cruising is a personal experience, and whether shorter itineraries are enough is subjective and can't be compared to traditional 5+ day sailings. Some passengers onboard seemed to try to fit 6 or 7 days' worth of activities into a 3 or 4-day trip, which can be difficult and tiring.
For those unsure about booking a shorter itinerary, we recommend evaluating what you want out of a cruise. Are you okay with not doing everything the ship has to offer? Do you plan on leaving the ship at port or relaxing on board? Book the trip that best suits your desired outcome. If you only have a few days available for vacation and really want to cruise, then booking a shorter cruise is still better than not cruising at all!
We have uploaded our embarkation day video on our YouTube channel, where we will also share the entire Utopia vlog series.
